Turtles on the Move (Berlin Edition)
Heading to bus station for 15 hr bus ride...
Breanne snaked her way through the streets to get us to the metro and bus station. She’s so good with directions, which makes my life easy. Always there for my 2 cents, but honestly it’s probably the wrong direction anyway. She credits her dad for always having a game plan going to theme parks, looking at the map the night before, and strategically placing the family in good strategic positions to get on the most rides possible, and to take a break for a show halfway. Could also be from boating in lakes. But hey, I’m still important. I carry the heavier pack. She couldn’t survive without me!!...
Got on the bus. So buses just smell straight up. Everyone’s shoes are off. I don’t know where the BO is coming from, but it’s dank. Thought we'd have free wi-fi, that doesn't work. Couple scuffles around 2 and 3AM on the bus, with someone sleeping on someone else, and another person wouldn’t stop complaining. German police pull bus over twice throughout the night asking for passports. No worries. Oh, I have traveller's diaherrea and Breanne has a sinus infection taking Nyquil. But hey, we saved money taking this bus, and sleeping overnight on it. We’re the true winners here...
On the flip side of all that, I had a great night. Anytime I can suppress concentration I’m a happy camper. I got probably 3 hours of sleep. Feel great. On the way to Berlin for the weekend. Breanne and I will be meeting Nils. He’s a German soldier that will be on leave for training exercises, and we’ll be staying at his pad. Seems like a nice guy.
