Skydiving South Africa

Skydiving

When we were in South Africa, we rented a car a drove the Garden Route. A spectacular journey that can be done from Cape Town and over 750 km later, enter into Port Elizabeth. Once you get into the heart of the Garden Route, near Stormsriver, attitude’s begin to change.

Tons of outdoor activities light this area up, and even some of the more extreme ones. Bloukrans Bridge holds the position as highest bungy jump in the world at 216 meters. Skydiving is another activity to explore. What’s nice about skydiving along the Garden Route, you’re sure to find some pretty scenery when jumping out.

Plettenburg Bay

Plettenburg Bay sits about where the Atlantic meets the Indian Ocean. A resort town with everything set up for beaches sits nearby. There’s plenty of sunshine and people surfing. It seemed like the perfect spot to try skydiving.

The first minute or two is a straight free fall. You’re flying very fast straight towards Earth. Thrilling.

Once the cord is pulled and the chute pops out, it’s more relaxing as you can begin to take in the views. Mountains off in the distance with a crystal clear blue beneath your dangling feet.
